Siouxland Community Health Center Has Certified Application Counselors Ready to Assist All Patients
SIOUX CITY, IA: The fourth open enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace opens on Tuesday, November 1 for those looking to renew their current coverage or enroll in a new plan for 2017. This open enrollment period will continue through January 31, 2017.
While insurance premiums have increased for some consumers, most will not see a higher cost due to the increase in the subsidies available to help individuals afford the cost of their coverage. If purchasing coverage through the Marketplace, consumers could be eligible for tax credits or subsidies to help offset the cost.
In order for a person to have coverage effective starting January 1, 2017, individuals must enroll in a plan by December 15.
Mari Kaptain-Dahlen, CEO of the Siouxland Community Health Center, underscored the importance of having all eligible patients go through the enrollment process. “The Community Health Center has certified application counselors on staff that will be able to explain the features of the various programs,” said Kaptain-Dahlen. “While it can certainly be confusing our Certified Application Counselors can assist consumers with enrolling in coverage and determining eligibility for both Marketplace plans and Medicaid.
