SBIRT

(Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment)

456739889Available through a grant from the Iowa Department of Health, SBIRT identifies substance abuse problems using a public health approach and universal screening. The primary goal of SBIRT is to identify individuals who are at moderate or high risk for psycho-social or health care problems related to their substance use choices, and provide progressive levels of clinical interventions based on each patient’s needs and motivation for change. SBIRT is facilitated by two health educators and one co-located substance abuse counselor from Jackson Recovery on site.
